Mathew Belcher is the defending Olympic champion in the men’s 470 class, having won gold with former crew Malcolm Page at London 2012.

After the 2012 Games, Belcher paired up with Rio Olympic debutant Will Ryan, who was a training partner in the lead up to the London Games.

As a member of Southport Yacht Club for 25 years, Mathew began his sailing career in the SYC Sailing Academy.
