Southport Yacht Club's Off-the-Beach Multihull fleet sees a number of boats regularly racing.
Weekend racing, held on Saturdays (as per racing calendar) incorporating the Sprint Race Series, Championship Series and Passage Race Series.
Classes competing are Nacra - 5.0, 5.8, 16sq, 5.7, 430, Hobie 16's, "A" Class and F18 but all classes are welcome.
Gold Coast Cat Week is an Annual event hosted by SYC, proudly sponsored by Fastway Couriers. Held in February each year it has attracted boats from all over Queensland and NSW and challenges all of the competitors on a multitude of courses on the Broadwater.
This event inpast years has incorperated the Nacra South-East Queensland Championships with various State and National Champions competing.
The Great Race is one of the longest Off the Beach Catamaran races in the Australia. The race starts from our sailing venue at SYC Hollywell on the Gold Coast and finishes at RQYS in Brisbane sailing 37 nautical miles through the broadwater channels and crossing Moreton Bay to the finish.
