Associates Committee

For nearly thirty years the Associates Committee of Southport Yacht Club have been an integral part of the Yacht Club and consists of a dedicated group of volunteers staging Events and functions to raise funds for community, charity and club Projects.

We stage ten events per years, such as Themed Luncheons and Dinners, Getaways via coach or cruises and hold raffles at all of these events. Thanks to our fantastic loyal Sponsor Support we are renowned for offering our Members and Guests quality prizes.

One of the major beneficiaries of the results of our efforts is Sailability Gold Coast. This is a fantastic energetic organization which provides the location and environment for people with disabilities and limited mobility to share in and enjoy the independent trill of Sailing. Some of these participants' disabilities are due to accidents, at work or home. They come from all age brackets and from every walk of life. We consistently support their need for specialised craft and replacement equipment as the need arises. We also support the Sailability Team to participate in the Special Olympics.
