Match Racing
Southport Yacht club has a small but successful history in Match Racing with our team performing well in the early 90's.
Our youth teams placed 3rd and 5th in the World Youth Match Racing in New Zealand and the Interpacific Challenge had our teams racing in crews of 7 in MRX class yachts for a 5th and 4th.
SYC is also proud to have one of our members, current World Match Racing Champion, Rayshele Martin in the Australian Womens Match Racing Squad.
Southport Yacht Club will be the host venue of the 2010 Queensland Match Racing Championships and the 2010 Australian Youth Match Racing Championships in partnership with Yachting Australia.
The Match Racing will be held in Sailing Academy Blazer 23's and will consist of Round Robin races to qualify for Semi Finals and Finals.
The Queensland Match Racing Championships were held on the 26th and 27th of June 2010.

The 2011 Queensland Match Racing Championships will again be hosted by Southport Yacht Club with dates to be confirmed soon.
The Australian Youth Match Racing Championships will be held from the 2nd to the 6th of September 2010.
