SYC High Achieving Sailors Recognition Evening 2018
Ashleigh Swadling and George Morton take out Sail Sydney Nacra 15 Titles and Harry Hogan 1st in the Optimist Green Fleet!
There were seven SYC members competing at this year’s Sail Sydney and all had great results. Blake Wilson 3rd and Austin Cross 23rd in the Optimist Gold Fleet, Jack O’Hagan 16th & Leonardo Hughes 33rd in the Optimist Intermediate Fleet.
Sail Sydney put on some great weather for this year’s event but some very shifty wind and choppy conditions kept all the competitors on their toes. Ashleigh And George had a great start to their regatta and came into the last race in second place. It was a hairy start to the last race of the regatta with the pair thinking they were over, so went back over the start line and then kept sailing hard for a second place in the last race which was enough to get first place overall.
Harry had a dream run in the Green Fleet with three first places and a clear win in a 16 strong fleet.
