SYC Marina Project – Project Update

Southport Yacht Club is pleased to advise Members that F Arm has now been successfully completed, marking another significant milestone in the ongoing marina redevelopment and continuing to lift the standard of marina facilities across the Gold Coast.

The strong progress achieved to date reflects the collaborative efforts of Marine Structures, Marina Office and Members, supported by efficient work sequencing

Next Stage – E Arm Commencing

With F Arm complete, works will now transition to E Arm, scheduled to commence on 13 April 2026, with completion anticipated toward the end of July 2026. Minor works to selected berth will occur prior the week of the 7 April 2026.

E Arm represents a critical component of the overall marina upgrade, as it carries the primary services infrastructure that supplies power, water, and communications to the remaining marina arms. Completing these works is an important step in supporting the continued progression of the broader project.

Member Access During Works

During the initial phase, existing piles and finger pontoons on E Arm will be removed. For safety reasons, Marine Structures will carefully manage Member and guest access along E Arm while these activities are underway.

Members may experience short delays of up to approximately 10 minutes at times while removal works are in progress. The project team will make every effort to minimise disruption and avoid holding Members or guests unnecessarily, particularly during peak access periods.

Looking Ahead

The marina redevelopment remains a significant long-term investment in the Club’s waterfront facilities, with overall project completion anticipated in late 2027.

The Marina Office will continue to communicate directly with Marina Gold Members regarding any vessel movements required during upcoming stages, with ample notice provided to ensure smooth planning and minimal disruption.

Southport Yacht Club thanks all Members for their ongoing patience and support as we continue delivering a marina designed to serve the Club and its Members well into the future.

SYC Marina Project – F Arm Progress Update

Southport Yacht Club is pleased to share that F Arm is nearing completion and looking better than ever, continuing to raise the standard for marina facilities across the Gold Coast.

Southport Yacht Club has seen excellent progress, with Marine Structures and their team streamlining the construction process and improving work sequencing. Combined with favourable weather conditions, this has positioned F Arm to be completed approximately two weeks ahead of schedule.

Elevate Project Services continues to oversee the works on behalf of SYC, ensuring strong quality control and delivery standards are consistently maintained.

In recognition of the progress to date, Marine Structures recently hosted a BBQ for subcontractors, acknowledging the significant effort that has gone into the successful completion of G Arm and the near completion of F Arm.

Brett James (GM), on behalf of the SYC Board and Waterfront Committee, expressed appreciation to Marine Structures and all subcontractors for their work to date, while noting there is still a long way to go until full completion, which is expected late 2027.

The Marina Office will be in contact with all Marina Gold Members regarding any required vessel movements, with ample notice provided to ensure a smooth transition.
